An architectural marvel with 100,000 seats, this is what Manchester United's new stadium will look like

Manchester United have announced plans to build an innovative stadium over the next five years, which will be the largest in the world, with a capacity of 100,000 spectators and an investment of around 2 billion euros.
The news was released by the club and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, co-owner of the club, confirmed the construction of a new sports facility, which will replace 'Old Trafford', the historic home of the 'Red Devils' since 1910.
Manchester United's decision came after a long evaluation process, where several options were compared; renovating the current stadium or building a completely new one. In the end, the second option was preferred, with the idea of locating the new structure in an area not too far from the current facility.
The project was entrusted to the architects of 'Foster and Partners', who revealed on the club's social channels the futuristic design of the stadium, which will take the shape of a large umbrella.
The chief executive of the architectural firm, Lord Norman Foster, told the BBC: "This is one of the most exciting projects in the world. The new stadium will be at the top of a huge umbrella that will collect energy and rainwater, covering a public square that will be twice the size of Trafalgar Square."
However, the announcement of the project is not without its uncertainties. One of the main concerns is the financing of the project, given that Manchester United currently has a debt of more than €1 billion.
Added to this are the on-field difficulties of a team that has failed to recover from a negative moment. Despite economic and other difficulties, the club seems determined to push forward with this ambitious initiative, which if realized, could represent one of the greatest innovations in the world of football.
