Rama: We brought electricity and water to Kavaja because there was none! May 11 is important so as not to miss the moment

The Prime Minister of Albania, and also the leader of the Socialist Party, Edi Rama, stated today during a meeting with the socialist assemblies of Kavaja and Vora that the May 11 elections have geostrategic importance for Albania and Albanians, describing them as the most important after '91-'92.
Rama, while focusing on the transformation that has occurred in recent years in these municipalities, stated that from a fake pocket, Kavaja has changed completely today.
"Here in Kavaja, you have seen for yourself what going to the miller's house because of your mother-in-law's anger does to you. We achieved an extraordinary result, we took over the municipality of Kavaja and changed Kavaja from being a fake pocket that had nothing but dust, pumpkin seeds and people who did whatever they could to survive," said Rama.
The Prime Minister recalled that in Kavaja there was neither water nor electricity, but only those two fingers on the square.
"When I first came to Kavaja as the chairman of the SP, we couldn't hold meetings. No one would let us into the cinema, and when we entered the cinema there were more empty chairs than people in the chairs. This was the SP. Here it happened that in a box at the voting centers, it wouldn't even receive the votes of the commission members because the pressure was great, the pensioners there were barely allowed to vote, etc., etc., terrible things," said Rama.
According to him, "now things have changed and this is like a dream, but we have to get the result."
Rama stated today during the meeting with the socialist assemblies of Kavaja and Vora that the May 11 elections have geostrategic importance for Albania and Albanians, describing them as the most important after '91-'92.
"I want to emphasize the fact that it is very important for every leader, part of the leadership of the Socialist Party, which means for every delegate, for every head of organization, to keep in mind the very special importance of these elections, not simply for the SP, because for the SP all elections have been important, but for Albania," Rama said.
"After the 1991-1992 elections, these are the first elections that have a geopolitical weight and that directly link the fate of our country, the European fate of our country. Today, the conditions have been created for us to actually enter the EU, as a result of the alignment of our internal circumstances with the circumstances of the European Union and for the first time the opportunity to become part of the EU is real," said Rama.
The Prime Minister emphasized that there is a calendar for negotiations with Albania, which is even the fastest in the history of a country's integration into the EU.
“Kemi një kalendar për negociatat që është kalendari më i shpejtë në historinë e integrimit evropian që na është dhënë për t’i mbyllur negociatat në vitin 2027. Dhe kemi mundësinë që nëse i mbyllim deri në 2027, të hyjmë dhe të bëhemi anëtarë të BE-së. Kjo do të thotë që Shqipëria të kalojë në një nivel tjetër në të gjitha aspektet, duke filluar nga individi, nga pasaporta e Republikës së Shqipërisë, e cila nuk do të jetë më ajo që është thjesht e vetëm një mundësi për të lëvizur, por pa mundësinë për të qëndruar, punuar, për të marrë shërbimet shëndetësore dhe për t’u rimbursuar njësoj si me qenë në vendin tënd, pa mundësinë për studentët që të jenë studentë në BE dhe të mos trajtohen si studentë ndërkombëtarë, por të trajtohen si studentë që janë në vendin e vet”, u shpreh Kryeministri.
“Ne hyjmë dhe bëhemi pjesë e barabartë e asaj familjeje, e një familje ku ne flasim gjuhën tonë, secili flet gjuhën e vet, ama na bashkon gjithë ombrella e legjislacionit dhe e të jetuarit së bashku. Ku edhe buxheti i vendit tonë do të marrë një rritje të fuqishme nga mbështetja e BE-së, se në momentin kur hyjmë në BE, hyjmë në kategorinë e shteteve përfituese. BE ka dy ka kategori, shtetet kontribuuese që janë ata më të pasurit, më të mëdhenjtë, më të zhvilluarit, janë edhe përfituesit, që janë më të vegjlit që janë në zhvillim e sipër si ne dhe ata të mëdhenjtë kontribuojnë që më të vegjlit të forcohen”, vijoi Kryeministri.
“Dhe nëse ne gjatë gjithë këtyre viteve, nga BE kemi marrë 630 milionë euro, duke u bërë anëtarë do të marrim mbi 1 miliardë çdo vit, ku është ndryshimi. 300 milionë çdo vit, vetëm për bujqësinë, për fermerët, për agropërpunimin, agrobiznesin, agroturizmin dhe për gjithçka që ka të bëjë me bujqësinë”, vijoi Rama.
Sipas Kryeministrit, “e gjitha kjo mund të mos ndodhi nëse në 11 maj, Shqipëria nuk voton fuqishëm PS dhe nuk voton fuqishëm për të vazhduar një proces që nuk është një fjalë goje, por një punë e përditshme me detyra të pafundme”.
“Janë 1000 vetë që punojnë përditë për këtë punë. Janë 40 skuadra negociatorësh. Çdo javë dy ministret tona të shtetit që drejtojnë negociatat janë si në provim dhe japin llogari se çfarë ka bërë Shqipëria këtë javë, që çdo minutë vlen dhe asnjë minutë s’duhet humbur. Parafytyrojeni tani sikur në 11 maj rezultati të mos jetë i qartë, sikur gjithë kjo qëndrueshmëri që kemi krijuar të lëkundet, sikur pozicioni ndërkombëtar ku e kemi vendosur Shqipërinë të vihet në dyshim dhe ata të thonë: po mirë me kë do punojmë ne?”, tha ai.
“Mjafton një rrëshqitje gjashtëmujore, për të mos thënë më shumë dhe nuk arrihet më gjë dhe ajo mundësi mund të ikë që aty”, tha Rama.
The Prime Minister brought to attention the fact that Albania has previously been ready to become part of the European family, but some of the member states have found a specific issue to prevent the definitive opening of negotiations with our country.
"We were ready to open negotiations earlier, but they weren't ready. The majority said yes, one person would say no because they see that we have a concern, and they would tell us that this is where you belong, you have to be patient, continue working, etc.," said Rama.
"Today we have on the table the jointly approved and agreed-upon calendar. They have told us to close the negotiations in 2027, do all the homework and we will take you in. This is something too big to miss, or to be discussed by trifles like I am with this or that party, or that this has not been done for Kavaja or not," Rama said.
