The accident took the life of a 25-year-old man from Matjan, he left for work

He was only 26 years old, originally from Mati and had come to the capital for years to pursue his dream of journalism and to become an exemplary citizen of this country. Xhesjoni, the young man from Mati, who was forced to go to Mati from time to time because his mother and family were there, tragically lost his life today in a serious accident recorded on the Gjola bridge.

He took the same route as usual to go to work and continue his work. Unfortunately, a wrong overtaking, not on his part, took the life of 26-year-old journalist, Xhesjon Zogu.

This morning, he had even spoken to his colleagues at the private university in the capital where he worked. He had told them that they would talk when he arrived in Tirana, but unfortunately that conversation would never happen.

Xhesjoni was a rare boy, an excellent student, an example, as his teachers say between the lines shared on social media.

One of them was journalist and analyst Mentor Kikia, who, amidst the pain of this tragic loss of a young man at the most beautiful age of his life, expressed disappointment and sadness for the country in which we live.

Where rules are ignored and unfortunately cost the lives of those who, despite respecting them, become victims of the negligence of others.

"I had Jessen as a journalism student. He was a work colleague of my son's at Western Balkans University. He was going to work in the morning, but he couldn't make it. People, get your heads together if you still have any seeds left," the journalist writes.

The tragic accident was recorded at around 09:40 on the Fushë Krujë-Rinas axis, over the Gjola bridge.

The collision between the two vehicles proved fatal for the journalist, who was traveling in a Land Rover. Despite efforts to provide him with the necessary assistance and transportation to the Trauma Hospital, Jason was unable to survive his injuries and died en route.

Another person, Behar Ruçi, from Korça, who was traveling in a "Benz" type vehicle, was also injured in the accident. He has been transported to the hospital, where he is receiving the necessary medical treatment.

Preliminary information suggests that the collision occurred as a result of a wrong overtaking maneuver by the driver of the "Benz". The maneuver is suspected to have led to the collision with the "Land Rover" in which the 26-year-old was traveling.

Mentor Kiki's full reaction:

Jason couldn't make it to work this morning!

A young man lost his life this morning, going to work.

Actually, he didn't lose it, they took it from him.

They killed him!

It's also called murder when you're driving and a suicide bomber comes towards you.

Jason Zogu, 26, was driving when someone overtook him the wrong way and they collided.

I had Jason as a journalism student. He was a colleague of my son's at Western Balkans University. He was going to work in the morning, but he didn't make it.

People, come to your senses if you still have any seeds left!

We are barbarians when it comes to road manners. We are crazy for rushing, without any idea why or where.

We don't ask about rules, about danger.

Roads that have serious problems with safety signage. And people who have even more serious problems with the signage of their minds.

Rest in peace, Jason.

Condolences to his family and friends.

Po ndodh...
