KPA upholds dismissal of prosecutor Elveta Stafa Mura

The Special Appeals Chamber, KPA, announced on Thursday, April 3, the decision to uphold the dismissal from office of Elbasan prosecutor Elveta Stafa Mura. The decision was taken unanimously by the panel headed by Natasha Mulaj, with rapporteur Rezarta Schuetz and members Albana Shtylla, Ina Rama and Mimoza Tasi, after reviewing Stafa's appeal in the consulting room. The KPA decision is final and with immediate effect.
Former prosecutor Elveta Stafa Mura was dismissed by the Independent Qualification Commission on May 23, 2022, for property issues, the only criterion for which the vetting process was carried out against her. It was also concluded that she had violated public trust with contradictory and false statements.
Stafa began her career in the justice system in 1985. She worked for more than three decades as a prosecutor in the Elbasan Judicial District Prosecutor's Office.
