Driver arrested after hitting pedestrian and fleeing in Pogradec

Korça Police have arrested the driver of the vehicle that caused the fatal accident yesterday afternoon on the "Pogradec-Qafë Thanë" axis and then fled the scene. Citizen DJ, 29 years old, resident of Pogradec, has been arrested.
Yesterday afternoon, the 29-year-old, driving a "Renault" type vehicle, on the "Pogradec-Qafë Thanë" road axis, near the village of Mëmëlisht, fatally hit pedestrian Ilir Mimini, about 55 years old, a resident of that area.
After the accident, the 29-year-old fled the scene with the vehicle, which he later abandoned near the train station in the city of Pogradec. He had removed the vehicle's license plates, taking them with him, and fled in an unknown direction.
The vehicle was seized by the Police, while the driver has already been arrested.
The procedural materials were passed to the Korça Prosecutor's Office for further action.
