The Ministry of Agriculture informed that after the outbreak of bird flu at the Rea's company farm on March 3, another case has been confirmed with the H5N1 disease at the " AIBA " poultry farm, owned by the head of the Albanian Football Federation, Armando Duka, and his brother, MP Agron Duka.
The announcement was made only through an online statement posted on March 13 on the official website of the Ministry of Agriculture, and was only learned after media interest, 4 days later, on March 17. The Ministry has not made any public statements so far.
On the first day, the veterinary service found 1848 dead birds at the farm located in the village of Maliq Muço in Rrashbull, Durrës, and the area has been quarantined. Report TV learns that to date, about 65 thousand birds have died, from a single barn, and according to sources, almost 40 thousand of them have been destroyed by burning, but it is not officially known when and where they were destroyed.
According to the ministry's official announcement, samples were taken and analyzed at the Food Safety and Veterinary Institute, where avian influenza was confirmed positive .
From this 3 km quarantined area, no poultry is allowed to go to the market (in open areas or live animal markets), nor from other uninfected silos. This order affects farmers in the Administrative Units of Sukth, Manëz, Katund i Ri, Maminas, Gjepalaj, Rashbull, Thumanë, Bubq, Prezë and Vorë.
According to the ministry, only the transport of poultry to the slaughterhouse is permitted with authorization from the Veterinarian after conducting a PCR test that is not infected.
The Ministry says that 211 farms with 2,958 heads, including small family farms, have been monitored by 5 groups of Official Control Veterinarians present on the ground and the Institute of Public Health has been notified for risk assessment.
At the beginning of March, the farm of the company "Rea's" in Durrës was affected by bird flu and was placed in quarantine, where within 2 days more than 23 thousand chickens died, while by March 6 there was talk of about 70 thousand dead chickens in one barn of the company Rea's alone. But the figures have not been updated with official information, and it is not known what the exact number of dead birds is. There is still no public announcement about their destruction when, in which place or in what way it was done, a process that must be supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture.

Shërbimi veterinar rajonal së bashku me perfaqësues së MBZHR janë paraqitur menjëherë në subjekt për tu njohur me gjendjen shëndetësore të shpendëve duke konstatuar 1848 shpendë të ngordhur. Strukturat e Ministrisë së Bujqësisë dhe Zhvillimit Rural dhe institucionet përkatëse të varësisë kanë marrë masat në mënyrë të menjëhershme, pas njoftimit për vendosjen e stabilimentit në karantinë, ku janë marrë mostra zyrtare, të cilat janë dërguar dhe analizuar brenda ditës në Institutin e Sigurisë Ushqimore dhe Veterinarisë.
Pas konfirmimit nga ISUV për rezultatin pozitiv të analizimit, në MBZHR është thirrur takimi i Qendrës Kombëtare të Krizës me pjesëmarrjen e përfaqësuesve edhe të Ministrisë së Mjedisit dhe Turizmit, Ministrisë për Pushtetin Vendor dhe Institutit të Shëndetit Publik.
Janë në fuqi Urdhri i Ministrit Nr. 200 datë 3.3.2025 dhe Urdhri 240, datë 9.3.2025 “Për marrjen e masave kufizuese për parandalimin dhe kontrollin e sëmundjes së influencës aviare në shpendë, në mjediset e hapura dhe në tregjet e kafshëve të gjalla”.
Njoftojmë fermerët dhe mbarështuesit e cilësdo lloj specieje shpendësh se vijon të jetë e ndaluar lëvizja e shpendëve nga fermat e Njësive Administrative Sukth, Manëz, Katund i Ri, Maminas, Gjepalaj, Rashbull, Thumanë, Bubq, Prezë dhe Vorë, në zbatim të Urdhrit të Ministrit Nr. 240 datë 9.3.2025 “Për marrjen e masave kufizuese për parandalimin dhe kontrollin e sëmundjes së influencës aviare në shpendë, në mjediset e hapura dhe në tregjet e kafshëve të gjalla”, i cili përcakton:
– Ndalimin e shitjes dhe tregtimit të shpendëve të gjallë në mjediset e hapura dhe tregjet e kafshëve të gjalla në territorin e Njësive Administrative Sukth, Manëz, Katund i Ri, Maminas, Gjepalaj, Rashbull, Thumanë, Bubq, Prezë dhe Vorë.
– Ndalimin e lëvizjes së shpendëve të gjallë nga ferma në fermë dhe nga ferma në tregjet e kafshëve të gjalla, në territorin e Njësive Administrative Sukth, Manëz, Katund i Ri, Maminas, Gjepalaj, Rashbull, Thumanë, Bubq, Prezë dhe Vorë.

The Regional Veterinary Service is also supervising and monitoring through tracking and sampling other small family farms, present in the protection and surveillance area, to send them without delay to the Reference Laboratory - ISUV. Today alone, 211 farms with 2958 heads have been monitored by 5 groups of Official Control Veterinarians present in the field.
The Institute of Public Health has also been notified to carry out the necessary procedures for control and risk assessment.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development instructs farmers and poultry farmers throughout the country to increase vigilance and cooperate with the authorities, to take measures to implement biosecurity on farms and premises where they raise poultry, and to carry out the movement of poultry for commercial purposes only after being authorized by the Official Veterinarian of the Service with the Veterinary Certificate of Animal Movement.
