She was left drugged, unconscious in the park/ Greek Minister of Health reacts

Greek Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, has reacted by rejecting claims of a shortage of doctors in the emergency room of Kefalonia Hospital, following the tragic event in which 19-year-old Myrto, of Albanian origin, lost her life.

The case is under investigation by the commander of the 6th Health Region, Elias Theodoropoulos, after suspicions were raised on the island that in the first moments of the arrival of the EKAB ambulance there may have been a lack of staff and delays in the intervention of specialist doctors. However, hospital sources have denied these claims, stating that the medical team reacted immediately and carried out all the necessary procedures.

According to official information, the EKAB ambulance arrived at the emergency room shortly before 05:00 in the morning, with the 19-year-old in critical condition after being found unconscious in the central square of Argostoli. She was transported by rescue teams after, according to investigations, she had been abandoned earlier at the scene by three suspects.

At the hospital, doctors and nurses performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation for about an hour, as well as intubation and treatment with emergency medications, but without success. It was later determined that the patient had suffered a cardiac arrest. According to medical sources, the forensic examination in Patras has identified pulmonary edema, while toxicological and histological analyses are expected to determine the final causes.

In a reaction on the X network, Georgiadis stated that the doctor on duty and specialists were activated within minutes, noting that the cardiologist arrived at the emergency room in less than two minutes, while the anesthesiologist a few minutes later. The minister expressed condolences to the family, while emphasizing that all procedures were followed according to protocol, despite efforts to save the young woman.
