'EU will retaliate!'/ Macron calls on French businesses after Trump tariffs: Stop financing in the US! It makes no sense to invest while they attack Europe

President Emmanuel Macron has expressed his belief that the European Union should prepare a strong response to the United States with new trade tariffs, according to Bloomberg, citing sources close to Macron.
"French President Emmanuel Macron believes that the European Union should prepare countermeasures, for example, targeting American technologies and services," the agency wrote, citing individuals familiar with his thinking.
Paris wants to ensure that the EU's response to US tariffs uses all the bloc's tools to defend its interests, one of the sources added.
Meanwhile, Macron is meeting on Friday afternoon with representatives of sectors of the French economy affected by the US tariffs. The meeting will include businessmen from the aerospace, agriculture, wine, chemicals, electronics and metallurgy industries, among others.
At the beginning of the meeting, the French president called the US president's decision "violent and unfounded", speaking of the colossal impact of the tariffs on France and its overseas territories and on Europe in general.
He also encouraged French businesses to stop investing in the US. “It makes no sense for businesses to invest there while the US is attacking Europe,” the French president said.
He also stressed that he agrees with the position of EU leaders that "nothing can be ruled out" in response to Trump's action, as "all tools are on the table."
"We must do everything that is effective and proportionate, but that also clearly demonstrates that we are determined not to allow these sectors to become victims of these tariffs," he stressed.
