Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the United States has given Ukraine and Russia until June to reach an agreement to end the war. If the June deadline is not met, the Trump administration is likely to pressure both sides to agree, the AP reported. “The Americans are proposing to the parties to end the war by the beginning of this summer and will most likely put pressure on the parties precisely according to this agenda,” Zelensky said. “They say they want to do everything by June. And they will do everything to end the war,” the Ukrainian president stressed.
According to Zelensky, the US has proposed holding the next round of talks next week in the US, and that Ukraine has confirmed its participation. The trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi did not produce a major agreement between the parties, each insisting on its own demands. Russia is insisting that Ukraine withdraw from Donbas, where fighting remains intense – a condition that Kiev also insists it will never accept.
