Serious in Italy, a teenager is found dead, a 20-year-old man is arrested

A serious incident has shocked Italy, after a 17-year-old girl was found murdered in a canal in Nizza Monferrato, in the Asti area.

The perpetrator is suspected to be a 20-year-old man, who has been arrested.

According to the investigation, teenager Zoe Trinchero had spent the evening with her friends at several bars in the city and then left alone. Her body was discovered by a local resident, who notified the police.

Preliminary examination shows that the 17-year-old had numerous signs of violence, head trauma, and evidence of strangulation.

Authorities say the murder is believed to have been the result of an argument. The suspect was known to the victim and had previously had a relationship with her. After lengthy questioning, he confessed to the crime to investigators.

Investigations are continuing to fully elucidate the circumstances of the incident.
