VIDEO/ Belgrade streets blocked, massive protest against Vučić

A grand protest, the most massive the country has ever known, is expected to be held today in Belgrade, which is considered the culmination of the protests that have been taking place for several months against Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.

The protest is led by students, supported by citizens, and is expected to last until late Saturday. Gatherings have been taking place since the morning in many different areas of the capital.

The protest is being held under the slogan "15 for 15", referring to the date March 15 and the 15 victims who lost their lives when a tent collapsed at the Novi Sad railway station.

According to the students' plan, the main rally will take place at 4:00 PM in front of the Serbian Parliament, while a podium will be set up nearby on Slavija Square.

Vučić called on everyone to ensure that today's protest in Belgrade is peaceful and that state authorities do not use force except in cases of absolute necessity, and said that the state will take all necessary measures to ensure peace and stability. Vučić said that the protest is illegal, and that if necessary, there will be arrests.

There have been no shortage of incidents today, with a vehicle driving into the crowd this morning, hitting a protester, while a person was arrested after threatening to blow up the presidential building.

This is the fourth major protest in the country, while smaller rallies continue to be held daily in numerous cities across Serbia. For days, students have been marching from different parts of the country, and by Friday evening, they had all arrived in Belgrade.
