US Vice President arrives in Greenland, Vance visits US military bases: We are

US Vice President JD Vance arrived in Greenland today, Friday, March 28, to visit the country, accompanied by his wife, Usha Vance.

Speaking to US troops at a military base in Greenland, Vance said: "Thank you all for what you do and thank you for hosting us. I've never been to Greenland. Apparently, I'm the first vice president to ever visit Greenland. That's a very cool thing."

Following his statements, Vance said he will discuss with military officials to understand exactly what the base does and all the important ways in which it contributes to national security, while adding that he will be briefed on the daily activities of military personnel.

“As you’ve heard, we have an interest in Greenland from the Trump administration, so we’ll talk a little bit about that with our friends in the media,” Vance concluded.

Vance concluded his speech by thanking the troops and again addressed the most controversial issue – American interests in Greenland.

"The president is really interested in Arctic security. As you all know, this is a big issue and it's going to get bigger in the coming decades," Vance said.

" That's why I thank you for what you do," he continued, acknowledging the "sacrifice" made by the military, who spend at least a year away from their families, the US vice president emphasized.
