What is a silent migraine! How to recognize and treat it to feel better

Migraines are commonly known for causing throbbing headache pain, but not all migraines are the same.
In fact, some are not accompanied by a headache but are characterized by different symptoms. This is called silent migraine or migraine without headache.
Below, AgroWeb.org introduces you to the common symptoms of silent migraine and treatment options.
What is silent migraine?
In cases where a person experiences silent migraines, they may experience changes in vision or blurriness, changes in senses, or speech.
This type of attack generally precedes the onset of the headache, but a silent migraine can also skip this stage. Like all migraines, the exact cause is not fully understood.
What are the causes?
The causes are similar to migraine headaches, and include:
Stress
Weather changes
Hormonal fluctuations
Changes in your daily routine
Bright lights
Certain foods or medications
Sleep disorders
It is thought that the trigger causes a chain reaction in the brain that causes nerve cells to become overactive.
Symptoms
The most obvious symptom is a visual attack and causes the appearance of moving spots or dots.
Other symptoms include:
Speech disorders
Weakness
Numbness
Vertigo
Imbalance
Nausea
Dizziness
Sensitivity to light
These symptoms often appear at different stages during an episode.
How long does it last?
The duration depends on the person. For some, a silent migraine may last a few hours, while for others it can last for days.
In general, silent migraine can be divided into four stages:
Warning phase
This occurs one or two days before the onset of an attack episode and usually includes symptoms such as increased food cravings, mood swings, fatigue, and increased thirst.
Aura
The duration of this phase often ranges from 5 to 60 minutes, with 20 minutes being the most typical length. But, in some cases, it can be continuous and last for days to weeks.
Headache
This stage does not usually occur during a silent attack, but usually presents with pain in a specific part of the head.
Postdrome
This phase can last from hours to days and is often characterized by fatigue, irritability, mood swings, etc.
Treatments
Most treatments focus on pain relief, but because a silent migraine is not accompanied by pain, treatment is not as readily available.
Painkillers can help prevent the headache phase.
Treatment with magnesium oxide supplements may be effective for some people.
Anticonvulsant medications that reduce the sensitivity of neurons in the brain may help.
Lifestyle changes, stress reduction, good sleep, and heat and ice treatment can help prevent attacks.
And if you have new symptoms or your symptoms have worsened, your doctor can give you a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. / AgroWeb.org
