Prime Minister Edi Rama has sent an invitation to justice institutions to hold a meeting on September 28 to discuss magistrates' salaries.
The Prime Minister publicly invited them to the table a day after the approval of the draft law on magistrates' salaries in parliament, which was opposed, emphasizing that they need to discuss a long-term solution.
In his reaction on the social network X, the Prime Minister stated that experts from the Council of Europe and the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice will also be present at the roundtable.
According to him, they should handle the issue with "wisdom and patience" and set an example of dignity before citizens and partners.
The majority approved the SP draft law with 84 votes in favor, 24 against and 1 abstention, despite objections from the judiciary and the opposition, who emphasized that the Constitutional Court's decision was being violated.
The magistrates have warned that they will send the approved law, and decreed a few hours later by the President, to the Constitutional Court.
