Agim Baçi: We don't want a Great Albania, but a normal one! The new

Analyst Agim Baçi, invited to the News 24 studio, commented on the current political situation in the country.

Baçi said that it is unfortunate that in Albania there is no real debate between the majority and the opposition.

"There is no debate between the majority and the opposition for citizens to determine who to vote for. Rama has not done many things and is not accountable anywhere. The opposition is narrow-minded because it cannot debate with itself and citizens find it difficult to see where the difference is between those in power and others who want to come to power," said Baçi.

He further added that Albanians do not want a Great Albania, but a normal Albania.

"Sali Berisha wanted to highlight a man who was Donald Trump's campaign manager and brought in Chris La Civita. But the idea is, is what is happening in America similar to what is happening in Albania? I say it's difficult. We don't want a Great Albania, we want a normal Albania. We want an Albania where Albanians want to see the future here. If we return the country to normality, it would be quite a success. Normality is that politicians are accountable to the citizens. Rama is arrogant and there are many who applaud him. Prime Minister Rama has personalized the Socialist Party. We miss a normal Albania, where people think about how to live here," said Baçi.

Speaking about the new political parties, Baçi expressed his belief that they will achieve surprising results and that they will have representatives in parliament.

"The new parties should be on one pole. The Opportunity Party, the Together Movement, the Albania Initiative and the Euro-Atlantic Coalition are parties that are also taken into consideration by the two major parties, the SP and the DP. Whoever enters politics, enters for the citizens. The moment you enter politics, you belong to the citizens and you will see the common interest. I think that the new parties will have deputies in parliament and will be a surprise. The diaspora could be a big surprise. The Prime Minister puts on a show and is not accountable. We as a people must learn that those who are elected must be accountable. Great pressure must be exerted so that the Prime Minister is not so arrogant. There needs to be a public debate so that people can watch the verbal "clash" live," he declared.
