Anton Kokaj responds to Berisha: Don't slander those who opened the door

The candidate for deputy of the Euro-Atlantic Coalition in the Shkodra region, Anton Kokaj, has responded to Sali Berisha for the comments he made regarding his family, emphasizing the pride in the Kokaj family's origins and positions over the years.

" My family has faced persecution and exile, but has always stood on the side of morality and manhood ," he says.

In his reaction, Kokaj recalls 1997, when his family opened the door to Berisha in one of the most difficult moments for the country.

In the end, he addresses Berisha with a quote by Gjergj Fishta: " The wise man is never in a hurry, out of courage and not out of ignorance."

Anton Kokaj's full reaction:

Doctor, I was told that today you dealt with the Kokaj tribe, with my family, of which I am proud and hold my head high.

This is a family that, despite the challenges and confrontations over the years, has always stood on the side of principles, morality, and manhood.

The Kokaj family is among the first three families to be declared kulaks in the Shkodra district. They were persecuted, exiled and never had a single trace of the Front. I believe you know this fact well, Doctor.

It is this same family that was among the first to stand up for democracy and freedom.

I believe you remember well the year '97, when in the most difficult days, you found the door of our house open, and you were welcomed and welcomed, despite everything that happened in that difficult year for Albanians.

So, Doctor, a real man does not forget and does not use words to smear those whom the regime of yesterday and today has persecuted — those who have stood by you in the darkest days.

And finally, I remind you of a saying by Gjergj Fishta:

"The wise man is never in a hurry, out of courage and not out of stupidity."
