Electoral promises/ Rama responds to water supply in Durrës: Historic transformation, 24-hour water within the 4th mandate

Prime Minister Edi Rama, in his "Sy m'Sy" column on social media, responded to a commentator who criticized the water supply in Durrës. Rama emphasized that over 60 million euros have been invested in three mandates and that the situation has changed significantly compared to 2013.
According to him, some areas such as Spitalla, Porto Romano and the former Këneta already have a 24-hour supply, while in other parts of the city water is provided from 4 to 20 hours a day. The Prime Minister underlined that 28 villages around Durrës have a full supply, while others have a limited supply.
He announced that the project financed by the French Development Agency will start implementation this year, guaranteeing 24-hour drinking water in Durrës within the fourth mandate. Rama called this a “historic transformation”, adding that so far the number of urban areas with uninterrupted supply has increased from 4 to 43, while 11 more areas are under construction.
"Let me explain why Durrës is listed as a partially supplied 24-hour area and why you did very well to vote for me in 2013. When you voted for me, there was or was not 3 hours of water a day everywhere.
Since you voted for me, we have invested in drinking water in Durrës, about 60 million euros more than all the other years combined, together with the beneficiaries being the residents of all the administrative units of that municipality, where let's not forget, there has never been 24-hour water because it is important to remember this too.
Then, we have reconstructed or built from scratch the drinking water lines in many segments.
I have many here, but I am mentioning from neighborhood 1, in neighborhoods 13 Plazh, 14 Shkozet, 15 Spitallë, from Ishmi, the Rinia sector and up to Manëz. From Hamallaj, Rashbull, Romanat, Shijak and Xhavzotaj and as a result, today that We are talking about some areas of the city such as Spitalla, Porto Romano, a part of new Durrës, or the former Këneta, as the owl calls it, or the Nishtulla area, are supplied with water 24 hours a day and meanwhile in other parts, the supply varies from 18 to 20 hours maximum, to a minimum of four hours.
While in the rural area, 28 villages have 24-hour water supplies.
9 villages have 4-8 hours of water supply, while 11 villages have 2 to 4 hours of water supply.
While on the beach, the water supply has reached 7-8 hours a day, but it is very, very important and this is needed for May 11 to inform everyone that within this year, the project financed by the French Development Agency is on the way to implementation, after all the procedures have been done and thanks to this project, within the 4th mandate, we will also conclude the entire 24-hour water supply program in Durrës.
Well, very simple. There is no magic wand, but let me repeat, what has been done and what has been invested for drinking water in these three mandates, has not been done and invested in decades and decades taken together.
And don't forget, at the national level, when we took office, we only had 4 urban areas with 24-hour water.
Today we have 43 and 98 more rural areas, while 11 urban areas are in the works and by the end of the 4th mandate, the entire national program of 24-hour water supply will be completed for 16 urban and 37 rural areas, concluding the historic transformation in the drinking water sector", he said.
