The chairman of the PDIU, Shpëtim Idrizi, explained on 'Studio Live' today that Albania's integration into the EU does not go through Greece and that the two major parties, the DP and the SP, made erroneous changes to the Electoral Code, almost completely closing the lists for deputies.

The lawmaker also explained to Report TV that he chose the open list because it is a parliamentary election and the president must be at the forefront of the battle, while adding that the DP damaged itself greatly with its political activities in recent years, referring to the 'civil war' within the Democrats in the Basha-Berisha battle, the burning of chairs or the "revolution."

"The list is not of the DP, but of the opposition coalition. There is an inequality of votes, the biggest problem and deficiency of the system. The system does not favor small parties. The DP was in a civil war for two years and we were waiting for what would happen there, as well as the issue of the stamp issue. Regarding the lists for deputies, I can say that these are political elections and the open list belongs to the chairman, so I am also on the open list", says Idrizi.
He emphasized the fact that integration is not dependent on Greece. While the PDIU has plans and projects for the establishment of special institutions in function of the Diaspora and not only.

"Albania's integration into the EU does not pass through Greece. We have also proposed a plan for institutions to represent the Diaspora or other sectors related to Civil Emergencies, to strengthen the structures specifically and to serve the citizens. The fiscal system or pensions", says the MP.
He further points out the defects and problems brought by the Electoral Code or the division of the DP in recent years with the factions created. While expressing concern that there is no immigrant representative in the closed lists.
