Danish Prime Minister Responds to US: Don't Try to Annex Any Country

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen called on the United States not to attempt to annex any country, stressing that an argument about international security does not justify such actions.

She stressed the willingness of Denmark and Greenland to cooperate with the US in strengthening security in the Arctic and to be more present in Greenland, but also made it clear that any attempt to take control over part of the territory of the Kingdom of Denmark is unacceptable.

Frederiksen said that, as allies, they must stand united and not allow divisions to arise that could damage relations. She recalled that Denmark has done a lot for the US, including business investments in the United States, defense spending and strengthening security in the Arctic.

However, she expressed concern about the pressure and threats coming from the US to take part of Greenland's territory, urging them to respect Denmark's sovereignty and not violate partnership relations.
