What's up with Rama? Gjiknuri: I had a different approach to the list!

"Earthquakes" in the south and a better result than in 2021 have been predicted by Damian Gjiknuri for the Socialist Party in the May 11 elections. In an interview for "Çdo kënt" with Merita Haklajn on A2 CNN, the former political leader of Vlora and currently on the open list of the Socialists, stressed that the SP aims to win 9 mandates in the Vlora district.

"The campaign is getting more and more intense, but the real race starts a little later. The South is a seismic zone where tectonic plates meet and the political effects will be felt. I think it will be better than 2021, with what I see on the ground and with my electoral analysis, the PS will achieve at least what it had in 21 and I think it will be higher. The list of candidates has a wide range of choices, there are people who do not come only from politics. All parts of the electorate that support the PS have a solution. This is the good thing about this list and I think that if this formula works in harmony. The PS has a very good chance of capturing 9 mandates."

Regarding running on the SP's open list, Gjiknuri stated that there were no doubts about his involvement, although he had a different stance on closed lists, which according to him should include experienced politicians, unlike Rama.

"In politics, everything happens. I don't believe that I wouldn't be convinced that I am very active and the Socialist Party needs my representation. I had a different approach and a different argument for the candidate lists. I said that the closed lists should have experienced politicians, creating a partial generation with the open lists, but the chairman is of an experimental nature. For me, it is unnatural because I have been a leader, and with high quotas, but since I am in the Vlora district, I have a lot of acquaintances."

He emphasized that every campaign has surprises and is working hard to maximize support for the SP and secure more votes.

"But every campaign has its surprises and I shouldn't say that because of the recognition this would make me lose my mind. I am campaigning intensively everywhere. One repeats oneself and I am meeting a lot of citizens throughout the district to maximize votes also for the benefit of the SP."
