40 kg of marijuana seized at Cyprus airport, an Albanian also involved in the trafficking

A 26-year-old Greek woman from Lamia has been arrested at Cyprus airport after a quantity of 40 kg of marijuana was found in her luggage.
According to information, the 26-year-old had recently traveled to Thailand, accompanied by two men, an Albanian and a Greek. The two men returned to Greece two days earlier than her, while the young woman traveled alone via Cyprus, specifically from Larnaca airport, on March 30.
During an airport search, 40 kilograms of marijuana were found in two nylon vacuum bags, which contained smaller bags of plant material.
In the last 48 hours, following an Interpol alert on behalf of the Cyprus Anti-Narcotics Service, searches have been carried out in apartments in Lamia, both in the 26-year-old's apartment and in that of her ex-husband.
The investigations have been conducted with absolute discretion and so far there has been no official announcement of findings or possible links to an international drug network.
