The Democratic Party is in the final stages of selecting candidates for the May 11 elections, but it appears that the process has caused dissatisfaction within the party.

MP Dashnor Sula, one of the most active opposition figures in Parliament, has reacted sharply after being left off the list of candidates for MPs.

In a strong statement, Sula accuses the DP leaders of making a list for beneficiaries and not true representatives of the democrats, while emphasizing that his support for SPAK and the Justice Reform was the main reason for his expulsion. He warns that this election could have consequences for the party's results in the Elbasan Region.

The Democratic Party has entered the final phase of the list for the May 11 battle. But are the criteria of the DP Statute and trumpeted in the media being respected?!
Although 70-80% of the DP leadership were de facto against the primaries, referring to the statute and the insistence of the DP, the primaries were held. As a deputy of the Elbasan district representing the Municipalities of Elbasan, Peqin, Cërrik, Belsh and Gramsh, after 4 years as a deputy I entered with conviction without doing internal backstage to see if I had the support of the Democrats to represent them for another mandate. Thanks to the Democrats, of Elbasan, Peqin, Cërrik, Gramshir and Belsh, I came out first as the most voted.
In 4 years as a deputy I have denounced oil smuggling, the abandonment of agriculture and many others.
The Institute of Political Studies has listed me several times among the 10 most active members of Parliament in the Opposition.
Every day I have defended the interests of voters by denouncing them in the media and also defending the Democratic Party.
I have met thousands of Albanians in the diaspora in the last 2-3 months with a single objective and desire, to convince them to contribute to making their country prosperous. I have been received with great respect, as I appreciate them.
But, dear friends, I have just been informed that I will not be part of the list of candidates for deputies of the Democratic Party in the May 11 elections for one single reason; because I am a "SPAKIST".
For no moment during this legislature have I questioned only one thing: my support in every appearance on the Parliament podium of the structures of Justice Reform, SPAK and GJKKO. I have believed and believed and continue to believe that they are continuing to do a great service to this country, they have imprisoned people with power, who a few years ago could not even be thought to be in this situation.
For me, this is a medal that is awarded to me after 3 mandates as a deputy, considering that I am a supporter of those Justice structures, which from every survey conducted, emerge as the most trusted institutions in the country.
I have no regrets for myself, when I started this path in 2005 I did not even think that I would stay in politics for 20 years. My only regret is for the Democrats of the Elbasan district and those thousands that I have known and met in the last 2-3 months in the Diaspora.
Finally, I have a message for those who are locked in the tower and are making the list for the Elbasan district, not everyone who will be included in that closed list can enjoy the votes of the Democrats of Elbasan, Peqin, Cerrik, Belshi and Gramshi. I feel bad, but you have not done your calculations well... I invite all Democrats to follow me today at 21:00 on the media for more.
