Spahiu: New parties have historical responsibility for not joining as the Third

Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu expresses disappointment with the small parties and emphasizes that even the polls show this. Despite being estimated at 14% in figures, this figure unfortunately cannot be translated into mandates, as these new forces are divided.

According to Spahiu, these parties and their leaders are missing the historic chance to change the political establishment in three decades, by not uniting and maximizing the vote, to translate it into parliamentary mandates, up to 20 seats, while in the current format they risk not even being able to get 1 mandate.

"We need to agree on a way of reflecting and trusting the people in the new parties, or is it the hatred they have towards the old ones that results in this 14%. These parties have a historical responsibility before the Albanians, who took away the opportunity for Albania to reform the Parliament on May 11. That 14% will not be able to return to 20 deputies to reform the parliament because they were divided, since they will not be able to get even a mandate. So they cannot become like Vetëvendosje, as Albin Kurti did.
We have 5-6 parties that only have a chairman, no vice chairman, no leaders and no forums. They are similar at the level of associations, we are unfortunate as a society, because we do not have a civil society. But once there were equal protests of civil societies, the same as those of the parties, It is sad when you see that they have not united in a Third Pole", he says.

He adds that these new parties seem to be fighting each other, attacking each other, rather than fighting the DP-SP establishment.

"But you can't overturn this policy in Albania, because if you look at the 4 new parties, they aim more to fight each other and compete with each other than to change the establishment in Albania, so this credibility towards them is in these figures."
As for Albania's membership in the EU, Spahiu thinks that this will depend on the geopolitical conjunctures of the large EU countries themselves, that if they decide on enlargement, then Albania can enter the EU in this legislature and not because of the work of the government.

"In the geopolitical and situational framework, I think that Albania enters the EU thanks to this geopolitical conjuncture. If France, Germany, Italy, etc. want enlargement, we can enter the EU even within this legislature. It depends on the geopolitical conjuncture and situations."
