Xhevdet Amuli, a well-known figure in Shkodra as an entrepreneur, athlete, and contributor to politics and the community, has announced his candidacy for MP in the May 11 elections, as part of the Euro-Atlantic Coalition.
In a post on social media, Amuli shared his story, highlighting his journey from sports, business and his long-term commitment to the Democratic Party. He recalled his involvement in democratic movements since the 1990s and efforts to unite democrats in Shkodra.
"I stand before you with the great honor of representing the Euro-Atlantic Coalition in the May 11 elections. This is the culmination of my political commitment, where I ask for your support as one of you, as a democrat who for years has remained faithful to the values of freedom, justice and democracy," Amuli said.
He emphasized that his experience in business and sports has taught him the importance of work, dedication, and honest decision-making, values that he wants to take to Parliament to bring real change to Shkodra and Albania.
"For 34 years, the old politics have held our country hostage. The time for change has come and on May 11, citizens will have the opportunity to choose a different politics, a politics with a human face, open and honest," he added.
Xhevdet Amuli has called for broad support from the citizens of Shkodra, guaranteeing that he will be a worthy representative for them and a strong voice for the development of the region.

Born and raised in the city of Shkodra, as many of you know me, I started working at a young age.
My beginnings, like those of many of my fellow citizens who belong to the class I represent, have not been easy, but with a lot of work and sacrifices I have managed to build not only the person I am today, but also the business where I have put my effort and sweat for years.
My beginnings as a public figure were early, when I was engaged in the sport of weightlifting. A sport that I have practiced for more than 10 years at the Vllaznia Club.
I have been engaged in democratic movements, participating in all the protests held against the brutal communist regime. Experiencing historical events, such as April 2 and the fall of the communist regime. A regime that we have had on our family's backs for many, many years.
With the advent of democracy, with the initiative and desire to move forward, I laid the foundations of my private business, thus becoming one of the first businessmen in the field of wholesale and retail trade of fuels. Over the years, I expanded this business even further by operating in the field of construction, and most recently in the field of hospitality and tourism for 13 years.
At the same time, during these years I have also contributed to Shkodra sports, no longer as an athlete but as a donor, where it is worth mentioning my contribution as a donor of the Vllaznia Football Club for 8 years and Chairman of the Board of Directors of this club.
Parallel to my daily work and other commitments, I have also continued my contribution to the Democratic Party since the 90s, where I was engaged as a young man, and further in leadership structures as Chairman of the Group Section, Member of the Presidency, Member of the Municipal Council and Branch Chairman of the Democratic Party of Shkodra.
Upon assuming my duties as Branch Chairman, I have worked and committed myself to uniting Democrats throughout the district, but unfortunately my desire and work alone were not enough. The division and secret groups built over the years made unification and strengthening impossible, despite the fact that in the elections held during the terms I held as Branch Chairman, the results have been among the highest that the Democratic Party has ever achieved.
Today I stand before you, and I have the honor to represent the Euro-Atlantic Democratic Party, announcing my candidacy for MP for the elections of May 11, 2025. This is the culmination of my political career, where I ask for your support as one of you, as democrats who have united us with the same values and principles over the years.
I take this opportunity to express once again my gratitude for the support of each and every one of you during these years.
