There is no peace for the cyber security of state institutions. After the hacking of the computers of three SPAK prosecutors, another virtual attack is reported to have been carried out against several public institutions, also during the month of March.

A 15-year-old with autism spectrum disorder has been placed under investigation by the Vlora Police, after allegedly organizing a hacker attack on several state institutions in the country. The police of the coastal city report that during March 2025, the minor managed to interfere in an unauthorized manner in the computer data of several state institutions (emails and official websites), causing their functioning to be interrupted for certain periods of time.

So far, it is not known which institutions have fallen victim to the hacker attack, but sources say it is about 6 institutions in the city of Vlora. Despite the attack, the police emphasize that there has been no theft of data or confidential documents from these systems. It is also learned that the minor has attempted to organize a hacker attack against the Parliament and SHISH, but has not succeeded. From the investigations so far, it has resulted that the minor on the autistic spectrum acted alone, while when questioned by the police, he stated that he committed the attack out of curiosity. The 15-year-old was discovered as part of the "Accountant" operation after a 1-month investigation.

During the operation, several devices were seized, which will undergo in-depth technical examinations, specifically: 5 laptop computers, 6 mobile phones and 1 drone. The news of the hacker attack on institutions in Vlora comes a day after it was made public that during March, an attack was organized against the "emails" of some of the SPAK prosecutors. As for the SPAK case, the hackers were not able to penetrate the internal IT system, which according to them, remains intact, but they managed to obtain data from the "email" addresses of some prosecutors, but there is no leak of investigative files.

After a 1-month investigation using special methods, a minor is identified and investigated as a suspected perpetrator. The Investigation Sector at the Vlora Local Police Directorate, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Vlora Court of General Jurisdiction and with the support of the Cyber ​​Crimes Investigation Directorate at the Criminal Police Department at the DPPSH and the State Intelligence Service, Vlora Branch, successfully finalized the police operation codenamed "The Accountant".

This operation was carried out after an intensive one-month investigation, followed by special investigative methods, within the framework of the crackdown on cybercrimes. As a result of the investigations, the illegal activity of a 15-year-old minor citizen, resident of Vlora, was documented, who is suspected of having, during March 2025, interfered in an unauthorized manner in the computer data of several state institutions (emails and official websites), causing their functioning to be interrupted for certain periods of time. The investigations so far have not resulted in the theft of confidential data or documents from these systems.

During the operation, several devices were seized, which will undergo in-depth technical examinations, specifically: 5 laptop computers, 6 mobile phones and 1 drone. Investigations are ongoing to fully document this activity.
