Since his arrest, Mayor Erion Veliaj has spoken through his statuses in threatening language about the prosecutor in his case .
In wiretaps obtained by CNA, Veliaj, from his cell in Durrës prison, ordered all media outlets to increase pressure by publishing materials about him or against prosecutors .
Also, the purpose of this media campaign is to put pressure on the criminal prosecution body, as well as the Judiciary, publicly insult, and reduce the credibility of the persons engaged in the investigation of the criminal proceedings or even the preliminary investigation judge. We recall here that this lack of access to the investigation bodies and courts comes from a very high official such as the Mayor of Tirana.
At the head of the campaign is citizen Arbër Veliaj , who directs the entire media attack against the investigators, the prosecutor involved in the investigation, as well as the judge in the case.
In the wiretaps, it is clear that Veliaj uses threatening language, saying that he will not stop the media campaign against him and that he will tear it to pieces. He even calls it a "mask" due to the fact that another accusation would be brought against him.
