"Laert quickly threw down the hatchet..."/ Gerti Lala's mother

Laert Haxhiu is accused of a series of serious crimes, including the murder of Gerti Lala on July 8, 2010 in Lushnje. His murder occurred in front of the entrance to the building where he lived, and before the perpetrators hit him with hard objects and shot him with a firearm, there had been an argument between them.

The show "Our Things" brings the testimony of Gerti Lala's mother, Vangjeli Lala, who stated that, around 11:00 PM on the night the incident occurred, she heard noises coming from outside. Initially, she heard footsteps, later she heard noises as if they were fighting before they executed her with a gun.

During the debate between her son and the perpetrators, Vangjeli Lala managed to hear the words: "What do you have against me? I haven't done anything to you..."

"At first I heard footsteps, later I heard noises as if they were fighting. During the debate I heard the words: "What are you doing with me, I haven't done anything..., words from my son and then I heard: "Leave him, leave him alone, he's not our fault...", words that weren't from my son. I heard others but I couldn't make them out. I heard several gunshots and immediately went out onto the balcony. I saw two people, one 175 cm and the other 180 cm. I saw them from behind walking away in the direction of the place called "Ypsilon". One of them was wearing a red T-shirt and had short hair," she said.

Vangjeli Kala was questioned again on October 25, 2010, where he explained in detail the circumstances of the incident, the description of one of the executioners, whom he also recognized in the process of appearing for recognition, where he identified as one of the perpetrators of the murder, the defendant Orgest Bilbili.

"At the end of August, around 9:00 PM, I was driving with my son-in-law, Shkëlzen Jupe, and I was in the back seat. It was dark. The car window was down. As soon as we approached the entrance to the street of the neighborhood known as "Ypsilon", next to a bar, I saw on the sidewalk, under the streetlight, two people who caught my attention. I recognized one of them. As soon as they saw the son-in-law's car, they turned their backs on the road. When he got about 1.5 meters closer, the other person who was standing together with the person I knew, I initially did not recognize him, but when I got closer, I identified him as the person I saw at the scene of the incident together with the other person. The son-in-law slowed down after I told him to. Later, he asked me why I told him to slow down and I asked him if he knew the person we saw there. He returned to the place where we saw them. In the following days, the groom told me that he had identified that person and his name was Orgest Bilbili. At that moment I told him that he was one of the people who killed Gerti. On the night of the incident, I also heard the words: “Laert quickly put down the glove.. ,” she said./ abcnews.al
