US: We seek political solution to Israel-Lebanon border disputes

US Deputy Special Envoy for the Middle East Morgan Ortagus said today (March 12) that the United States is seeking a political solution to the border disputes between Israel and Lebanon.

"We want to reach a political solution, finally, to the border disputes," Ortagus told a Lebanese television network.

He also said the US and France, which helped broker November's fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, have established "working groups" to keep the process on track.

The working groups will deal with border disputes between the two countries, as well as Israel's continued occupation of five strategic points in southern Lebanon, the US envoy said.
