The deadline is over, here are the 68 candidates running for members of the RTSH

The list of candidates for members of the RTSH Steering Council is being published after the deadline for applications and submission of requests, which was March 7.

In total, there will be 68 names competing for the 11 seats on the Steering Council, after Parliament dismissed the first council, upon the proposal of the Media Committee, as a result of violations found in the procedures for the director general's competition.

It was reported that the candidates will undergo hearings at the Media Commission. The list includes well-known names in Albanian art, cinematography and media.

Among them are the well-known actor Kastriot Çaushi, also the rector of the University of Arts, actress Rajmonda Bulku, composer Osman Mula or directors Besnik Bisha, Robert Budina and Arjan Culiqi, actors Agim Bajko, Arben Derhemi, actor and cartoonist Bujar Kapexhiu, composer Edmond Zhulali, journalists Rezear Xhaxhiu and Lorenc Vangjeli, as well as Ylljet Alliçka and others, who will be in the running for members of the public television's board of directors.

Following the dismissal of 11 members of the RTSH board of directors for violating procedures in the competition for the general director of the television station, and a series of other violations for conflict of interest to the point of abuse of office, the Parliament has also initiated procedures for the selection of a new board. The decision was taken by the Parliament in the session of February 17 by vote.

By March 4, 55 candidacies had been submitted, and now the number has finally reached 68 contestants.
