Apple warns iPhone users in 110 countries about possible cyberattacks

Apple has started sending security alerts to users in 110 countries, warning them of potential cyberattacks linked to sophisticated spyware, known as "mercenary spyware."
According to data published by TechCrunch, notifications now appear directly on the iPhone's lock screen, alongside communications via email and messages.
Apple has not released a list of the countries involved or given details about the alleged perpetrators of the attacks. The company argues that releasing the data could give spyware developers information that would help them evade detection systems.
According to Apple, these attacks do not usually target ordinary users, but rather specific individuals due to their profile or role, including journalists, activists, politicians, and diplomats.
The company emphasizes that receiving a notification does not necessarily mean that a user's data has been compromised. The warning indicates that Apple has identified activity on the device that is consistent with a possible spyware attack.
To increase security, Apple recommends that affected users immediately enable “Lockdown Mode.” This feature restricts some iPhone features, including attachments and link previews, communications from unknown contacts, and some web browsing functions.
Apple emphasizes that commercial spyware attacks are ongoing and spreading on a global scale, considering them a particularly serious threat to people who may be targeted.
