Austria on alert, another attempted child abduction near school in Vienna

There is panic in Austria after a kidnapping case. Parents and teachers in the Donaustadt district of Vienna have raised the alarm after an attempted kidnapping of children near the Oberdorfstrasse elementary school.

ORF TV reported that an eight-year-old boy was approached by a man who allegedly grabbed his arm and said, “You’re coming with me now.” The child managed to escape and police are now continuing their investigation.

The incident follows a similar incident near the Wulzendorfstraße elementary school and three others reported in Neubau since February. Schools are warning parents and encouraging children to travel in groups. Police recommend teaching children how to set boundaries and seek help in dangerous situations.
