US envoy: Europe will not be part of Russia-Ukraine peace talks

Europe will be consulted, but ultimately excluded, from planned peace talks between Russia, the US and Ukraine, Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine has revealed.
Asked if Europe would be present at the planned talks, Keith Kellogg said "that's not going to happen."
This statement will cause concern among some European leaders, who distrust Trump and believe that their country's security is intertwined with the fate of Ukraine.
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said French President Emmanuel Macron had invited European leaders to Paris on Sunday to discuss the situation.
Kellogg said one reason why previous peace talks between Ukraine and Russia had failed was due to the involvement of too many countries that lacked the capacity to execute any such process.
"We will not go down that road," he said on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
It is known that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had earlier used his speech at the conference to warn that Europe was likely to be excluded from the negotiations.
He urged Europe to grow and form an army in which Ukraine would play a central role.
