Trump vowed to buy it/ JD Vance heads to Greenland, his agenda revealed

US Vice President JD Vance and other senior officials are expected to arrive in Greenland on Friday, where locals have expressed deep concern about the visit, after President Trump vowed to buy the island "one way or another."
The White House reports that Vance will be accompanied on the one-day trip by Usha Vance, his wife; Chris Wright, the energy secretary; Michael Waltz, the national security adviser; and Senator Mike Lee, a Republican from Utah.
The trip's itinerary changed in recent days after an earlier announcement was met with a backlash in Greenland. Ms. Vance was originally expected to visit the island with Waltz.
She had also planned to participate in a sled dog race in southern Greenland.
A travel agency in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, said it would refuse a request from the US for Ms. Vance to visit its office.
The organizers of the dog sled race made it clear that they had not invited him. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Mute B. Egede, declared in indignant tones that there would be no meeting between American officials and the Greenlandic government.
In a video posted on social media on Tuesday following these reactions, Vance said he had decided to accompany his wife.
"I didn't want her to enjoy herself alone," he said, smiling.
The expanded delegation now plans to visit only Pituffik Space Base, formerly known as Thule Air Base, a seven-decade-old installation operated by US forces in northwest Greenland, inside the Arctic Circle.
