USA slaps Berisha, Biden-Trump appreciate Duman, support corruption investigations
Yesterday was a black day for Berisha. His "enemy" Duman was declared a hero by Biden and Trump, and another pro-American was blacklisted. That's enough to dismiss Berisha's propaganda.
Sali Berisha and the people close to him have started, since Trump's victory, a campaign to convince various entrepreneurs and supporters that in February his status non grata will be removed and he will become prime minister.
However, yesterday it seems that this fraudulent campaign of Berisha took a heavy blow for anyone who has even a little knowledge of how the United States of America operates. Altin Dumani, one of the figures that Berisha attacks every day, was declared "champion of the fight against corruption and crime" by the American State Department (DASH). This assessment comes after close coordination between US institutions, including the Department of Justice, the CIA, the DEA and others. Since the arrival of Donald Trump in the White House, the main decisions are consulted between the two administrations, as stated by Mike Waltz, the adviser appointed by Trump for national security.
So, SPAK has full American support to continue the fight against crime and corruption.
Moreover, yesterday the US blacklisted the former deputy prime minister of North Macedonia, one of the most pro-American figures there. This is a clear warning that Sali Berisha must see himself in the same mirror under the Trump administration.
Analyzing the names of the persons declared non grata, all the claims and accusations of Berisha are dropped. On the black list are 3 socialists, a democrat (Berisha), a prosecutor and a media owner.
Of these, the former general prosecutor, the man who controlled Berisha and Tom Doshi from the Trump Administration, while the rest from the Biden Administration. Clearly the most affected by the American sanctions is Edi Rama and why Berisha continues victimization by wanting to hold democracies hostage
History of non grata:
Adriatik Llalla February 15, 2018 under the Trump presidency
"Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has publicly declared "non grata" former Albanian Attorney General (Mr.) Adriatik Llalla based on section 7031 (c) of the FY 2017 Consolidated Budget Law due to his involvement in corruption important. The secretary also publicly announces the husband of Mr. Llalla, Ardjana Llalla, his daughter, Eni Llalla and his other child, not American."
Tom Doshi April 16, 2018 under the Trump administration
According to the statement, "The Department publicly announced" Mr. Doshi as undesirable and inadmissible to enter the territory of the United States because there is reliable information that foreign officials have been involved in significant corruption or gross violation of human rights, these individuals and their family members are not allowed to enter the United States,'' the statement said.
Vangjush Dako July 31, 2019 decision made under President Biden
"The Secretary of State is publicly designating the mayor of Durrës, Albania, Vangjush Dako, pursuant to Section 7031(c) of the Department of State FY 2019. Section 7031(c) provides that, in cases where the Secretary of State has reliable information that foreign officials have been involved in significant corruption or a gross violation of human rights, those individuals and their immediate family members are not eligible for entry into the United States.”
Aqif Rakipi April 11, 2022 under the Biden administration
"Aqif Rakipi (Skënder Ejylbegaj) is a notorious former MP from Elbasan, Albania, who has a harmful and destabilizing influence on the political processes in Albania. Numerous organized crime groups (OCGs) in Albania have offered money, gifts or promises of jobs or concessions in exchange for votes for their preferred political party. Rakipi has long been involved in organized crime and is closely linked to an Organized Crime Group, within which he has exerted political influence, including through corruption. For example, Rakipi has used his political influence to appoint his friends to key public positions in Elbasan and Tirana. Rakipi lost his mandate as a member of the Albanian parliament after prosecutors confirmed his role in criminal activity under an alias.
He is designated under EO 14033 for having been responsible or complicit in or directly or indirectly involved in corruption related to the Western Balkans, including corruption by, on behalf of, or related to a government in the Western Balkans, or a current official or past government, at any level of government in the Western Balkans, such as appropriation of public property, expropriation of private property for personal gain or political purposes, or bribery", writes the US Treasury Department.
Ylli Ndroqi (April 11, 2022)
"Ylli Ndroqi (Xhemal Pasmaciu) is a media owner whose assets were seized by the Albanian government in 2020 and 2021 for previous criminal activity. Ndroqi has used the media that were previously under his control to extort and blackmail Albanian citizens through requests for money and purchases of advertisements in exchange for not publishing negative articles in the media. Also, Ndroqi brokered bribes on behalf of an entity that wanted to do business in Albania. Ndroqi is determined under EO 14033 to have been responsible or complicit in or directly or indirectly involved in corruption related to the Western Balkans, including corruption by, on behalf of, or in connection with a government in the Western Balkans, or an official current or past government, at any level of government in the Western Balkans, such as appropriation of public property, expropriation of private property for personal gain or political purposes, or bribery", writes the US Treasury Department.
Sali Berisha (May 19, 2021)
"In his official capacity as Prime Minister of Albania in particular, Berisha was involved in corrupt practices, such as embezzlement of public funds and interference in public processes, including using his power for his own benefits and to enrich allies his politics and his family members at the expense of the Albanian public's trust in their government institutions and public officials. Moreover, his rhetoric shows that he is willing to protect himself, his family members and his political allies at the expense of independent investigations, anti-corruption efforts and accountability measures. With this determination, I am reaffirming the need for accountability and transparency in Albania's democratic institutions, government processes and the actions of Albanian public officials.
In addition to Berisha, I am publicly appointing his wife, Liri Berisha, his son, Shkelzen Berisha, and daughter, Argita Berisha Malltezi. These individuals are ineligible to travel to the United States," states the DASH Statement.
