Haradinaj: Kurti, a political beast/ AAK calls on other parties to unite

"No coalition with Kurti." This is what the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, declared, categorically rejecting a possible coalition with the Vetevendosje Movement. He stressed that despite the Vetevendosje Movement coming first with 41 percent of the votes, the opposition can form the government.

"It is my honor to help an opposition government. Certainly with Vetëvendosje and Mr. Kurti... We would gladly cooperate with the Albanian opposition political entities to create a majority. This is possible if we are willing and ready for this without any conditions."

Also, the AAK leader did not fail to respond in kind to yesterday's statements by Albin Kurti, who referred to the opposition as "animals" during the celebrations following the preliminary results.

"That epithet suits him. He is a beast, a prime minister who, after four years in government, has been showing off his vices throughout the campaign. He has not shown a concrete plan and has no achievements, but unfortunately this is our reality. The citizens of Kosovo were able to see who he is yesterday. A prime minister who has not achieved the expected result. I have not achieved the expected result either, but you know my language last night. It is the first time he has used such language, but in response to him... Why didn't he come out like that to insult, shout and we see that we are dealing with a man who is truly a beast. In our country they say that 'by calling him a beast, you are taking revenge on the beasts'" , stressed Haradinaj.

Ramush Haradinaj with his AAK-NISMA coalition received less support than in the previous elections. He said at a media conference on Monday that he was not satisfied with the result and that they will reflect on this result.

"I admit that the result is not good. I am not satisfied with this result. However, we will reflect, I and the Alliance on this result which is not good and unfortunately is not enough to help Kosovo in these processes that we have before us. We will continue this journey to give Kosovo an opposition government even in this circumstance that we are in. I had hoped that Kosovo would have a better opposition result, however the truth is that the opposition has won the majority of votes compared to the ruling party. Even though it has been in government for four years or less, it has not managed to keep its votes but has lost a considerable number of citizens' votes. This is a message for the rest of us to continue our path to change the country's government ," he said.
