The insane amount of online purchases is proof of the undeniable luxury in which the people who are supposed to be frugally administering the taxes of the citizens of Tirana were immersed. Irritation of public opinion, from the start of the process, is an advantage for the prosecutors in the courtroom.
"Ajola Xoxa herself or through other people close to her, for a period of about 4 years, has made online purchases consisting of clothing, jewelry, etc., in the amount of 86,721,175 lek, or about 880 thousand euros," SPAK's announcement read, which as expected immediately grabbed the headlines in the media.
Therefore, Erjon Veliaj immediately denounced the use of 860 thousand euros of Ajola Xoxa's purchases as untrue. The mayor said that the expenses were for cultural events that his wife managed, not for her personal pleasures.
"The online purchases are all declared and in an amount several times smaller, they were made for the artistic performances of my wife's cultural foundation. Billing that amount in an indictment, as a river of money poured into luxury, is a criminal perversion," said Veliaj, who brought as an argument the fact that Olsi Dado did not find any of the clothes in his house.
Edi Rama also supported Erjon Veliaj's alibi, despite accompanying it with a ridiculous justification, which he later justified by saying that he had not read the file. "To say 800 thousand euros of online purchases for jewelry and a dress while the mayor does not wear a dress or use jewelry and for this to take an elected person who has a contract with the citizens and lock him in a detention room," said Rama.
But what is the truth? What clothes did Ajola Xoxa buy to reach the staggering sum of 860 thousand euros? Are they online orders, materials for cultural events or are they simply the whims of a politician's wife, who has lost her sense of the reality that surrounds her?
Lapsi.al has secured the customs invoices for orders placed by Ajola Xoxa in 2014, 2015 and purchases from January to June 2016.
As SPAK has explained, sometimes purchases are made in the name of Ajola Xoxa, sometimes in the name of her mother, Valbona Xoxa. Sometimes the orders are destined for the company's offices at Sky Tower, sometimes for the house in Kodra e Diellit. Sometimes the purchases are made in pounds, other times in euros or dollars.
At least in the invoices provided by Lapsi.al, purchases are made at short intervals, once a week or every two weeks.

The fact is that the documents show the opposite.
Personal clothing and various accessories ordered from the most famous companies in the world have nothing in common with cultural projects, be they exhibitions, concerts or artistic performances.
