During the interview on the show "Weekend" with journalist Genta Gashi on Klan Kosova, Lulzim Basha spoke about the impact that communication on social networks has had on this campaign and the positive reaction it has received mainly from young people.
"It wasn't that I targeted them - it was they who responded. By engaging in something that was related to their culture, like the Unikkatil song, I saw that the youth reacted. They became more sensitive, more attentive to my political messages."

He said that every time he goes out in public, he has had immediate contact with young people who stop him to take photos, who follow him and show interest in political engagement.
“Yesterday, at an event, the street was filled with young people between 12 and 17 years old who wanted selfies. It happens to me everywhere. And this gives me special joy – because one of the biggest wounds has been the departure of young people from politics.”

Basha said this lack of attention has made young people feel like strangers in their own country, adding that politics has failed to create reasons for them to stay.
“One of the most painful consequences of the wrong politics is the emigration of young people. Instead of building here, they dream of leaving. But the reaction they have towards us gives me great hope that this is changing.”

Excerpt from the interview:

Gashi: When we are on the subject of youth, children and not only, has your target this time been youth, because of social networks, did you try to have them closer to you through it?
Basha : It is true that it has happened, but the opposite has happened. So, by engaging in something that has elements of what youth like a lot, like the song by Unikkatil, I have seen that youth have become very sensitive, they have become attentive, much more attentive to my political messages. So, it is not that I targeted them, that I went to them, that is, to get them with these messages, they responded, the youth responded, I am telling you yesterday, for example, yesterday I was at a political activity, as soon as I left the street was filled with young people, 12 to 15 or 17 years old, who as soon as I got off took out their cell phones and said: let's take a selfie, let's take a selfie. I may have taken over 10 selfies. It happens everywhere now. Of course, it happens to others too, but it gives me special joy that the youth respond in this way, because to be honest, one of the main problems is that a policy that is inattentive to the youth has made them strangers to politics. The youth cannot be strangers to politics because the decisions of politics have a direct effect on the youth. As I know very well, as we know painfully here in Albania, where one of the most harmful consequences of wrong politics, corruption, and government failures is the emigration of young people and the desire of those young people who are here to leave, instead of having the desire to build their lives in their own country, and this is certainly a great concern. The reaction they have to my messages is a great hope that the youth will no longer feel strangers, but will be involved and will take their own destinies into their own hands in the future of Albania.
