"I may be seen as a traitor by some", Çollaku: Deformed primaries, no candidate presented a platform

Democratic Party MP, Kreshnik Çollaku, invited to the News24 studio, spoke about his candidacy on the open lists of the Democratic Party as well as the primaries process for selecting candidates for MPs.
In his speech, Çollaku acknowledged that he may have been seen by some as a "traitor", but stressed that he has always been honest in his opinions and criticisms.
"An emancipated party like the DP must accept different opinions. If we functioned like Russian matryoshka dolls, we would not be a real party," he said.
Analyzing the primaries process, Çollaku raised concerns about the way they were conducted within the DP, describing them as deformed and disorganized.
"I may be seen by some as a traitor. I have always given my opinion and I think that an emancipated party like the DP is and should be a party that accepts criticism and diversity within itself, because if we were like Russian matryoshka dolls, it would not be a party.
Could there have been such a cost, and there may have been, but I think it was the deformation and lack of organization, the system of primaries in the DP. We say like American primaries, but in American primaries, platforms are confronted. You have not heard any candidate in the primary present his political platform in the primary and not only the vote of the membership is taken, but the entire public", he said.
