Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister: Kiev ready to sign minerals agreement, but

Ukraine is "ready to sign" a minerals deal with America, but the US "has not yet decided on the terms," Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna said.

"The agreement is ready. There are no changes to the text," said Olha Stefanishyna.

During a statement to the media, the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine said: "The American side has not yet decided on the terms of the agreement, while Ukraine is ready to sign it."

Recall that the minerals agreement was planned to be signed by Zelensky and Trump during their face-to-face meeting at the White House about 2 weeks ago, but due to their tense confrontation, the agreement was not finalized, as there was a fierce debate between Trump and Zelensky with criticism of each other.

There has also been much uncertainty about whether the deal would come with US “security guarantees” – with Ukraine and Europe saying the guarantees are necessary to deter Russia and implement any peace agreement.
