"Our passport was viewed with suspicion"/ Rama: We are stigmatized as a gloomy and criminal country, but... Afghans can stay!

Prime Minister Edi Rama, in his speech after the signing in Madrid of the agreement for the organization of the "World Law Congress Albania 2027", the World Law Congress in 2027 in Albania, stated that Albania's image in the world has already changed.
"Albania is far from being what you've been told, the country that has been haunted for so long by the stigma of being a gloomy place. The sun shines in Albania."
It's not that we don't have our bad things, but they are just as many and as few as in any other country. It's a country whose passport has always seemed like a questionable document, but that has changed.
We have never had a tradition of institutions and independent justice. Politics is a struggle for power, but so is the struggle for justice.
I could not be more proud to welcome the World Law Congress. I invite you to Albania, telling you that you will never regret it, and you will even want to return.
Our Plan A is the EU while we do not have a Plan B. Having a Plan B against the EU is having a Plan B against the rule of law, democracy and individual rights. This means living in a category B society.
"We want a country where everyone is given an opportunity to win and no one can win at the expense of someone else," he said.
"Afghans can stay"
Asked about US President Donald Trump's decisions, one of which is the ban on the movement of Afghan refugees, the head of government said that anyone who wants to stay in Albania will be free to do so.
"There will be no problem with Afghan refugees living in Albania."
"If they want to stay in our country, they can do that, they can't go back to their country and stop the violence. These are not big numbers for us, they are just a few hundred people," he said.
