Taulanda Jupi: Rama promises, fails and deceives/ Albanians no longer eat lies!

Albanians don't buy fairy tales anymore. They want a government that works, an economy that functions, and a state that doesn't treat them like sheep.
The Euro-Atlantic Coalition candidate for Tirana, Taulanda Jupi, has reacted sharply to Prime Minister Edi Rama's repeated promises regarding the European integration process and the governance situation in the country.
Jupi stressed that for 12 years, Rama has built a strategy based on propaganda and deception, promising to open negotiations with the EU year after year, while Albania remained hostage to corruption and state capture.
"Who stopped Albania from becoming European? Not its citizens, not its ambassadors in Brussels, not its police officers at the airports. Albania is not in the EU because it had a prime minister who dragged out this process to protect himself and his corrupt system," she said.
Referring to government scandals, Jupi underlined that Rama's government does not want integration, because an Albania in the EU would mean transparency, accountability and true justice.
"In the EU, you cannot steal 7 billion euros from the state budget every year and get away with it. The EU knows that Ilir Beqja is in prison for corruption, and Frida Krifca is being investigated for the disappearance of IPARD funds. And the EU will not forgive this," she stressed.
Jupp also harshly criticized the recent promise of a new passport, calling it a "magic carpet" that Rama is trying to sell to Albanians.
"Albanians no longer buy fairy tales. They want a government that works, an economy that functions, and a state that doesn't treat them like sheep," she concluded.
Yupi's post
Edi Rama has an old habit: he promises, he fails, and then he promises again. Negotiations were opened, negotiations with the EU would be opened. It didn't happen. In 2015, he repeated it. It didn't happen. In 2016, he said it was a matter of months. He lied. He promised ten times, he lied ten times. Negotiations opened in 2024.
And now, he is seeking a fourth term by telling another fairy tale, a passport that doesn't exist, a flying carpet.
Who stopped Albania from becoming European? Not the police at the airports. Not the ambassadors in Brussels. Not the Albanians who work and study abroad.
Albania is not far from Europe because of its citizens. It is far because for 12 years it has been governed by a man who dragged out this process with corruption, propaganda, and state capture.
But the truth is even simpler than that: Edi Rama does not want Albania to join the EU. Because in the EU you can't steal 7 billion euros from the state budget every year and get away with it.
The EU knows that Ilir Beqja is in prison for corruption, while Frida Krifca is being investigated for the disappearance of IPARD funds, European taxpayers' money. And the EU will not forgive him for this.
And now, he wants to sell Albanians an imaginary passport. But Albanians don't buy fairy tales anymore. They don't want empty words, but a government that works, an economy that functions and a state that doesn't treat them like sheep, neither black nor white.
