Delina Fico, the wife of former Interior Minister and Socialist Party MP Bledi Çuçi, has reacted to the incident that occurred the day before, where in one of the areas of the capital, she and her husband fell "prey" to several young protesters.
In a statement to "Top Channel", Fico said that the incident occurred while she and Çuçi were in a bar in Pazari i Ri, along with two of their friends. According to her, a group of young people positioned near the bar began to address the MP with insulting calls, while later the comments extended to her as well.
Fico says that she initially tried not to react, but the situation changed when the protesters started addressing her personally. She admits that at that moment she lost her composure and reacted by throwing the water bottles she had on the table at them, despite the efforts of her husband and friends to calm her down.
"We were in the New Bazaar at the bar, eating meatballs and drinking beers with our two friends. At one point, a group of young people positioned to the right of the bar started shouting "thief, thief", took out their cameras and started shouting "thief, thief". Then they added the words "your wife, thief, your wife, thief". To be honest, I got irritated the moment they added the word "wife", meaning me. And then I couldn't contain myself and hit them with those water bottles, although Bledi and the two friends who were nearby and a friend who was at a nearby table approached me and said "let them go, don't think they want that attention".
"I specifically addressed the two young girls, I told them how you could do this, how you could insult a woman, and in fact I would really like to meet them and talk to them because it is a very wrong attitude. Look, what was most hurtful was that this group of young people were sitting on the right, while a man older than them was sitting on the left and directing them like a conductor, but he himself was hiding like a skunk," Fico said.
