Terrifying fire in a palace in Italy! 2 dead and 13 injured, including a newborn baby

A man and a woman have died after a massive fire ripped through a three-story building in the San Vito neighborhood of Lucca, Italy, last night. Thirteen people were injured in the flames, while a newborn baby was rescued by firefighters during the evacuation operation.

The incident took place in a building on Via Bertini, at the intersection with Via Corsica, where the fire is believed to have started on the ground floor of one of the apartments. The two victims lived together in the apartment where the fire broke out. The woman was found dead in the living room, while the man's body was found in the bedroom. According to initial estimates, the man is suspected of having died from smoke inhalation and gases caused by the fire. Families living on the upper floors were forced to leave their apartments and went up to the terraces, where they awaited the arrival of rescue teams. After extinguishing the flames, firefighters found the two bodies inside the apartment.

Among the injured, a woman is in serious condition and has been transported to the Pisa Burn Center due to serious injuries. Nine other people were taken to hospitals in Lucca, Versilia and Pisa, while three other injured people received treatment in hospital facilities. State Police and firefighters are at the scene to determine the causes of the fire. According to initial findings, the fire may have started accidentally, but investigations are still in the initial stages.

The building has been declared uninhabitable, while the Municipality of Lucca has initiated procedures to provide temporary housing for the evacuated residents. Investigations are ongoing to determine exactly how the fire started and the circumstances that led to the deaths of two people.
