Baseball bats and brawl between minors in Yzberisht, police criminally prosecute 23 young people

A large-scale conflict between minors was prevented in Yzberisht, Tirana, after immediate police intervention.

23 young people, aged 13 to 17, have been criminally prosecuted, while two baseball bats have been seized by officers.

“ Tirana/The immediate intervention of the services of Commissariat No. 6 prevents a conflict between dozens of minors, in Yzberisht. 23 citizens aged 13-17 years, who were involved in the conflict, are being prosecuted. 2 baseball bats are being seized.

Immediately after receiving information that dozens of minors were going to clash on "Besim Alla" Street, the services of Police Commissariat No. 6 went to the signaled area to prevent the incident.

The officers found several minors armed with baseball bats, to be used during the conflict. They were escorted to the police station premises and, subsequently, other minors who would be involved in this conflict were identified and escorted.

At the conclusion of the investigative and procedural actions, carried out in the presence of the parents and the psychologist, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where proceedings were initiated for 23 minors. Also, the hard objects were seized.

The Tirana Police remains maximally committed to preventing conflicts between minors and young people, which, although they start for weak motives, can escalate into serious criminal events. To fulfill this priority objective, we require the intensive cooperation of the parents, relatives, friends and teachers of the minors, who find in everyday life and in the digital space indications of such events between peers.

"The safety of children and young people is an absolute priority of the State Police ," the Police writes.
