"You who serve a rotten system", residents of Maliq attack journalists

The protest against the merger of the Municipality of Maliq and its unification with the Municipality of Korça was accompanied by tensions and clashes between protesters and journalists who were reporting the event on the ground.

The organizer of this protest, Arian Asimi, was the one who, while the film crews were interviewing the protesters, addressed the journalists with accusations and insults. Among the journalists involved in the incident were Report TV correspondent Armand Braho and CNA journalist Iris Rezhda.

Asim, also known as the political exponent of Adriatik Lapaj, accused the media of being sold out and serving the government, while asking journalists to leave the protest. The situation became even more tense, even turning into physical clashes, while journalists were prevented from carrying out their duties and reporting on the protest.

At one point during the clash, Asim addressed one of the journalists with the words: "Let me show you this face, which serves this system and comes here to disrupt the protest."

The journalists asked him to stop attacking them, telling him that he was attacking all journalists and that they had always been there to voice their concerns.

Asim continued: "Get out of here, don't provoke a protest. You will appear in front of all Albanians. Why are you filming? You should leave because you serve this system."
