The court session at the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime for the assessment of the security measure against businessman Ergys Agasi has been interrupted for the second time, after about three hours of discussions.
It is learned that the hearing was suspended while defense attorney Maks Haxhia continued presenting his legal arguments.
The prolongation of the defense's speech caused the interruption of the process, which is expected to continue at a later time during the day.
Earlier, the court had approved another adjournment at the request of the defense, after lawyer Haxhia requested additional time to familiarize himself with the acts of the investigative file and the decision imposing the measure, claiming that he had not previously had them at his disposal.
Ergys Agasi appeared before the black squads today for verification of the "prison arrest" measure, which was imposed on him in absentia.
The businessman had been wanted since December 2025 and was arrested on August 26 in the Plepave area of Durrës.
At the time of the arrest, he was in the vehicle with former State Police employee Uljan Shpataraku, who was also arrested.
After the defense's arguments are concluded, the panel is expected to retire to make a decision on whether to uphold the prison sentence or change it.
