26-year-old man dies in Kosovo after killing pregnant woman, then shooting himself

The tragedy in Malisheva takes another turn.

The 26-year-old man suspected of murdering his pregnant wife also dies.

Egzon Bytyçi, who was seriously injured by gunfire after the August 23 incident, died four days later in serious condition.

His death was confirmed by Gjakova Police spokesman Sheremet Elezaj, who announced that the 26-year-old passed away on the afternoon of August 27, at around 5:15 p.m.

Bytyçi was suspected of murdering his 25-year-old wife, Jetlira Foniqi, who was 34 weeks pregnant.

The serious incident occurred in the village of Kërvasari in the Municipality of Malisheva. Authorities have continued investigations to fully document the circumstances of the case, while the procedures are being carried out in cooperation with the competent prosecutor.
