Photos from Ergys Agas's arrest released, 2 officers suspended

The Directorate of Professional Standards has suspended two officers of the "Eagle" forces in the Tirana Police, following the publication of photos of Ergys Agas following his arrest.

The suspension came after the launch of an administrative investigation into how footage of Agas in the directorate's premises was made public.

The two suspended officers were working in the "Eagle" sector of the Tirana Police. The administrative investigation is expected to clarify whether they had direct responsibility for the release or distribution of the photos.

The publication of these images raised questions about preserving the dignity of the detained person and about the way the State Police manages the materials during and after arrests.
