"Albania will be the Switzerland and Austria of the Balkans" - Rama: We will have two highways connecting us to the EU! Ambition, to become a tourism champion

Prime Minister Edi Rama, while presenting investments in infrastructure, said, among other things, that "Albania has the ambition to become a tourism champion in the Balkans."
In his speech, the head of government said that Albania will have two highways that will connect our country to the European Union's highway network.
The head of government stated that Albania, although a small country, has all the possibilities to become the Switzerland and Austria of the Balkans in terms of tourism.
"We will have two highways connecting Albania to the EU highway network. The blue corridor, when we launched it they made fun of us, what are they going to do, they will sail on land, their chatter, and the eighth corridor that will be completely different from what it was."
If we look at Albania today in terms of tourism, we have an intensive exploitation of a very narrow strip that is a strip that belongs to the sea and rare points in the territory. Meanwhile, the most special wealth of Albanians in terms of the treasure of nature in function of the economy, is not this, but what is inside, above all, are the mountainous areas of Albania. Why? Because there, in another phase, Albania will be able to release capacities of a tourism that brings consumers of a high level.
What makes Albania unique in relation to other countries is that it has both of these very close. Albania is very small and has two seas, it has 9 rivers, there are entire mountain ranges that are very close to the sea, not counting the lakes. Among those internal roads is the Lura road that is nearing completion. All that the sea is bringing to Albania is important at this stage, but in a second stage it will be the foundation of what Albania will build in the rest of the country, where it will really be, a Switzerland and Austria of the Balkans. When I say Switzerland and Austria of the Balkans in terms of tourism, let's understand each other", said Rama.
