The candidate for deputy in the Tirana District with the Euro-Atlantic Coalition, Taulanda Jupi, has welcomed Lulzim Basha's decision to enter the May 11 race with open lists, describing it as a bold step towards the end of the 34-year transition.
In a reaction published on social media, Jupi emphasized that the Euro-Atlantic Coalition has chosen transparency and true representation, offering a list of candidates with integrity, professionals and community representatives, who were not selected behind closed doors, but in collaboration with citizens and structures.
"Representatives of citizens, not mayors, should go to Parliament. And we will win this battle," writes Jupi, differentiating KEA's approach from that of other political forces, which, according to her, remained hostage to the past, building lists that reflect more the interests of an individual than of a truly democratic party.
In conclusion, she called on citizens to choose true democracy on May 11, where they decide, and not a handful of people.
"Citizens deserve a Parliament where their voice is heard! Albania deserves more!" - concludes Taulanda Jupi.

The Euro-Atlantic Coalition entered this race with open lists of candidates with integrity, professionals, intellectuals and true representatives of the community. Our candidates were not chosen behind closed doors, but by those who keep democracy alive – our citizens and structures. Representatives of citizens, not mayors, should go to Parliament. And we will win this battle.
While we were guided by the principle of transparency and trust in citizens, others remained hostage to the past. The illusion of democracy was extinguished overnight, when their lists were filled with loyalists of one man and not representatives of an idea. Those who believed that the word given would be kept, today see a different reality – a party of one person, not of members and supporters.
But Albanians are not without choices. On May 11, they can choose between real democracy, where the final word belongs to the citizens, and political theater, where decisions are made by a handful of people. We believe in the power of citizens to change the future. And this time, change is not just a hope, it is a real possibility.
Citizens deserve a Parliament where their voice is heard! Albania deserves more!
